Job Overview 

We are looking for our Principal Architect, Enterprise Apps &Integrations who will partner closely with clinical, finance, supply chain, customer care, market access, marketing and people teams and maintain the overall Enterprise Applications architecture. Demonstrated expertise in the design and implementation of scalable MuleSoft solutions on cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, utilizing CloudHub and Runtime Fabric. Experienced in integrating diverse cloud services and SaaS applications/ The chosen candidate will orchestrate enterprise-level integrations, enabling fluid connectivity between systems. This person will create our Integration Playbook from the ground up and define repeatable, scalable processes to maintain existing integrations and add new as needed. Over time the individual will manage team of Integration Engineers and architects.  

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties 

  • Integration Strategy & Vision: 
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive integration strategy aligned with the organization's goals and technology landscape. 
    • Create long-term integration roadmaps and ensure the seamless alignment of technology with business requirements. 
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions. 
    • Define and communicate the vision for integration architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency
  • Hands-on Technical Leadership: 
    • Design and implement integrations between SaaS applications (e.g., Salesforce, Veeva, Netsuite), cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, data bricks), and other cloud services using MuleSoft connectors and APIs.   
    • Develop and implement strategies for optimization MuleSoft applications for performance and cost-effectiveness in cloud environments  
    • Develop integration patterns for connecting cloud-based APIs and microservices, enabling seamless data flow and application interoperability  
    • Implement API management strategies for securing, monitoring, and governing cloud-based APIs  
    • Utilize cloud-based message queues and event streaming platforms (e.g., AWS SQS) for asynchronous communication and event-driven integration.  
    • Ensure compliance with relevant security and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) for web applications and APIs.  
    • Ensure GxP Compliance in accordance with CFR Part 11 and Annex 11 requirements  
    • Implement API security policies and access controls using MuleSoft's API Management capabilities.  
    • Leverage cloud technologies (AWS) and microservices architecture to modernize and optimize integration processes. 
    • Develop reusable assets and templates for cloud-based integrations  
    • Guide and mentor teams on the best practices for API integrations, microservices, and cloud-based solutions. 
  • Project Management & Reporting: 
    • Manage integration projects from conception through execution, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints. 
    • Provide regular status updates and cost management reports to senior management, identifying risks and ensuring proactive mitigation strategies are in place. 
    • Drive project prioritization and resource allocation to meet organizational objectives. 
  • Best Practices & Continuous Improvement: 
    • Establish, document, and promote integration best practices and coding standards to ensure consistency and quality across all integration solutions. 
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in integration, cloud, and microservices. 
    • Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to enhance integration processes and tools. 
    • Collaboration with Other Teams: Partner with other teams to deliver cohesive solutions. 
    • Engage with cross-functional teams to solve complex integration challenges and ensure smooth operations. 
  • Team Leadership & Coaching: 
    • Manage and mentor a high-performing integration team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and collaboration. 
    • Provide coaching and career development opportunities for team members, helping them grow into future leaders. 
    • Encourage a collaborative work environment, promoting knowledge-sharing and cross-functional collaboration. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise integration, with a strong focus on MuleSoft.     
  • 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing integration solutions using Mulesoft. 
  • 4+ years of experience in a senior leadership role (Technology Manager, Technology Director, or similar).

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Strong expertise in cloud technologies, particularly AWS. 
  • Proven experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems design. 
  • Experience leading integration teams, with a focus on delivering complex, cross-functional projects. 
  • Deep understanding of integration technologies, tools, and frameworks. 
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a track record of mentoring and coaching technical teams. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across departments and with executive leadership. 
  • In-depth knowledge of integration best practices, governance, and enterprise-scale solutions. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and tactically.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools. 
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes. 
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing for integrations.
